Our Governing Body
Otley and Witnesham Primary Schools are federated under a shared head teacher and a single governing body.
The Governing Body oversees the strategic direction of both schools, and is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds who are elected or co-opted onto the governing body, and are representative of parents, staff and the local community. The three core functions of a governing body are:
* Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
* Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
* Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
'The Role of Our Governing Body' document, which can be found on the button below, provides more detail.
If you are interested in becoming a school governor, and would like more information, please contact the Headteacher to find out about any vacancies and ask for a governor's information pack.
