Welcome to Class 3's information page.
In Class 3 there are 28 children. Their teachers
are Miss Baker and Mrs Roberts. The children know that the
more that they put into everyday, the more they enjoy and
learn from their time in class. In Class 3 the children have
responsibilities such as getting the room ready for
assembly and lunch as well as being great role models for
the younger children in school.
Many of the children in Class 3 are enthusiastic members of a number of different sports teams. The children love sport and take part in a number of inter-school tournaments. The children will go swimming on a Tuesday after Christmas and some will compete in an inter schools swimming gala. Year 6 children also have transitional days with Farlingaye High School in a range of different subject areas throughout the year. This year children in Years 5 and 6 will be going on a weeks residential to Derbyshire in July.
Class 3 learn about the world through topic work, this term the children's topic is 'China'. In spring their topics are 'Mighty Mountains' and 'World War I'. In the summer the topic will be 'The Great Plague'. Our topics also form the basis for our literacy lessons and include lots of creative work too. Children will also be learning lots of new and exciting skills on the computer as well as common phrases in French. Mrs Dye, Miss Rayner, Mrs Liddell and Mrs Thrower help in Class 3 during the week. They support the children during lessons and intervention programmes.
Class 3 is fantastic because all the children work hard and have humour and fun as part of their days too. The children have SATs at the end of the year and they will all work hard to achieve the best of their ability. The children strive to earn stickers towards achievement certificates. It is exciting at the end of the day when they can tell their mums and dads what they have learnt and how many stickers they have earned. At the end of the week Miss Baker awards someone as the ‘Star of the Week’: the person who she feels has worked the hardest, put in the most effort, shown significant acts of kindness or made a great improvement.
