Welcome to Class 2's information page.
This academic year class two has 18 children, made up
of years 2, 3 and 4! The class is full of very motivated,
helpful and friendly children.
Their teacher is Miss French. They are joined by
Mrs. Chisholm and Mrs. Thrower who support the class during lessons and interventions. On a Monday afternoon class two are taught French by Mrs. Roberts, and R.E and P.S.H.E by Mrs. Ellam. Mrs. Roberts joins class two again on a Friday morning to teach French.
Class two learn about the world around them through their topic work. Topic lessons work alongside literacy lessons and give the children the chance to be creative. During the Autumn term class two will be learning about ‘The Saxons’ and ‘Maps & Europe’. In the Spring term the children will learn about ‘Ancient Greece’ and contrasts between Greece and Britain. This is an exciting term as the class will go swimming every Thursday afternoon. In the final term the class will learn about ‘Transport Development’ and ‘Map Skills & Compasses’. Class two also have the opportunity to learn through the use of computers and develop computing skills. They very much enjoy learning about life in France and common French phrases.
Class two is a lovely class to be part of. The children are very keen learners who work well as a team and put lots of effort into every subject. They work hard to earn ‘stars’ or stickers for fantastic work and effort. At the end of the week Miss French awards someone as ‘The Class Star’. This is given to a child who has worked really hard to meet their targets or made progress over the course of the week. It’s brilliant for them to be able to go home to tell their mums and dads what they have been achieving in schools.
