School Games Gold Mark
The Sainsbury's School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.
At Otley, despite our small size, we pride ourselves on providing a wide range of sport opportunities for our children. As a result, we were awarded the Bronze award in 2014, the Silver award in 2015, and the Gold award in 2016 and 2017. These awards reflect our long-term commitment to the PE provision in our school, including:
The quantity of high-quality PE lessons our children receive each week;
The amount of children participating in extra-curricular sporting activity each week;
The support we provide for our talented young sports people and less active children;
The number of competitive events we take part in each year.
By receving the Gold award, it really does put us among the top schools in the country for the opportunities we provide in PE. We are very proud of this award and hope it can be used as a springboard to develop our PE teaching even more!

Linguamarque Bronze Heading
Suffolk Linguamarque is an initiative aiming to support schools in the teaching and learning of Primary Languages such as French, Spanish & German. It provides schools with a structured approach to support the development of Primary Languages within the curriculum, in line with the government's recommendations and Programme of Studies. It encompasses all the best practice developed locally and nationally, along with a methodology to benchmark and define achievement in Primary Languages.
Schools can initially apply for the bronze level and work their way through the scheme to the highest level (gold), thus becoming a leading school in the development of Primary Languages.
We are proud that Otley Primary School was awarded the Bronze Linguamarque in 2016.
Eco Schools Silver Award
Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging millions of children across 64 different countries, making it the largest environmental schools programme in the world.
In the UK, more than 18,000 schools are registered and 1,200 schools currently hold the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag. The programme provides a framework for learning and action around nine topics – biodiversity, energy, litter, global citizenship, healthy living, school grounds, transport, waste and water. It follows a seven-step process to lead schools on their journey to achieving a Green Flag Award.
The wonderful children in our school were awarded the Silver award in 2015 in recognition of all their work taking care of our environment.

The citation read
"The judging panel felt that this forward-thinking partnership showed a good example of a successful federation of schools. It has enabled these two small rural schools to thrive, maintain Good Ofsted judgements and, most importantly, enhance the provision for their pupils. They successfully share best practice and hold partnership events between the schools."
